Debra S. Frank Moderates Panel on Recent Family Law Case Decisions
Century City, Calif. (PRWEB) June 15, 2009 -- Debra S. Frank, a Certified Family Law Specialist in Century City, California, recently moderated a panel at the Family Law Symposium. The Panel, entitled Recent Developments, included Garrett C. Dailey, Esq., Judge Robert A. Schnider (Ret.), and Commissioner Michael Convey, a commissioner of the Los Angeles Superior Court. The cases that were discussed included Alan T.S. v. Super. Ct. (Mary T.), In re Marriage of Alter, In re Marriage of Bardzik, In re Marriage of Berger, In re Marriage of Brooks & Robinson, In re Marriage of Dellaria & Blickman-Dellaria, In re Marriage of Falcone & Fyke, In re Marriage of Gong and Kwong, In re Marriage of Holtemann, In re Marriage of Mosley, In re Marriage of Ramirez & Llamas, Schatz v. Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble & Mallory, LLP, and Williams v. Russ.
This was the 41st Family Law Symposium presented by the Family Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the largest bar association in the country. The event was co-sponsored by the Los Angeles Superior Court. The 41st Annual Family Law Symposium offered a comprehensive update on a wide variety of topics relevant to the practice of family law. These topics included proof and presentation issues, fiduciary duties relative to confidentiality in mediation, disclosures as they are impacted by current technology, issues that involve both family law and probate, and an update on important new case law and legislative trends. Each year the symposium is well-attended by approximately 400 family law attorneys, law students and others interested in family law and this year was no exception.
Debra S. Frank has moderated the Recent Development panel for the last two years. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Family Law Section Executive Committee and its Secretary, editor of its annual Family Law Symposium book, and a mediator for the Los Angeles County Bar Association Family Law section. She regularly serves as a moderator and presenter for family law programs. She just completed three-year terms as a Commissioner for the Family Law Advisory Commission, Board of Legal Specialization and as the Chair of the Financial Issues South subcommittee of the State Bar Family Law Executive Committee. She is a Board Member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (ACFLS) and its Newsletter Editor for the 2008-2009 term. She is also on the Board of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Family Law Section and the Century City Bar Association. Debra S. Frank was admitted to the California bar in 1977. She is also a member of the District of Columbia bar. She graduated from Boston University in 1970 with honors, Carnegie Institute of Technology (M.A., with honors, 1972), and Southwestern University School of Law (J.D., 1977).
